I saw this photo shoot and I liked the still life juxtaposed next to the palette and then featured in context of the space. it is nice to see things full circle, especially colors. It is always hard to make a decision about adding color to your home, it defines the mood of the space and as a result has a lot to do with how you feel in your space. With the mood of a color palette also comes the mood of the interior design – accents and furniture, though I am a firm believer that anything works if it is done with assertion.
This is definitely one reason to watch Sky Atlantic, our guys in the office are all hooked. Its about two 30-something guys that like to party, try to make a living and achieve their version of the ‘American Dream’. It’s downtown NYC, witty and the characters are very likable. The show is produced by Mark Wahlbergs ‘Entourage’ team but is a lot more gritty and down to earth. The cinematography in the show is really cool and has inspired us to get working on some new ‘NYC’ inspired artwork. Bring on Series 2!!!!
Whilst on my search for high end contemporary art i stumbled across this rare piece on amazon. It has a powerful, life changing presence in many homes across the land - you have to read the customer reviews….
John Squire, thats a name from the past. i often wondered what he was up to these days. songwriter, guitarist for one of the best bands ever (The Stone Roses) and behind the scenes a well respected painter.
I came across this video of Squire demonstrating his skills for 'Watercolour' show at the Tate Britain. Along with artists such as Tracy Emin, Thomas Girtin and Anish Kapoor. The show invites you to challenge your preconceptions of what watercolour actually is.
With more than a passive interest in fine art i have found myself going back to the site of Chad Wys - it is truly wonderful! conceptually amazing and aesthetically pleasing. I particularly like the spontaneous, minimal paint attacks on his collection of cheap charity shop ornaments.
Street artist Banksy has been nominated for the Outstanding Debut by a British writer, director or producer gong for his film Exit Through The Gift Shop. The film’s producer, Jaimie D’Cruz has also been shortlisted.
This is the first film directed by the graffiti artist and tells the story of a French shop keeper’s quest to find Banksy and make friends with him.
The illusive artist is featured in the film, but his identity is still kept secret with his face obscured and voice altered.
